In the Indian market, the Isuzu India team has launched the 2026 Isuzu V-Cross in the country at a price range of Rs 25.50-30.28 lakh ex-showroom, and from my experience with premium lifestyle trucks, this pick-up feels more focused than ever. It comes equipped with a 4WD system and auto-locking differential as standard fitment across the entire variant line-up, showing a clear intent to deliver serious capability.
The 4×2 variants have been discontinued, and it is now available only in a 4×4 version, which makes it directly at loggerheads with the Toyota Hilux in India. Along with subtle visual updates and new features, this move strengthens its image as a practical yet bold lifestyle vehicle built for tough conditions and evolving buyer needs.
Variants, Colours and Design Shift
With the MY26 update, the 2026 model now starts at Rs 20.5 lakh (Ex-sh) and goes till Rs 30.28 lakh (Ex-sh). It is available in three variants across two trim levels — V-Cross 4WD MT Z, V-Cross 4WD MT Z Prestige, and V-Cross 4WD AT Z Prestige. The V-Cross 2WD AT Z variant is not on sale anymore, which clearly shows a stronger push toward the 4WD range. From my experience with lifestyle pickups, this move makes sense for buyers who truly want capability with comfort.

There are seven color options available: Silky White Pearl, Black Mica, Red Spinel Mica, Nautilus Blue, Galena Grey, Silver Metallic, and Splash White. The Exterior design changes primarily revolve around the fascia, where an all new bumper incorporates sleeker aesthetic elements and a sort-of front lip. The silver faux skid plate is gone, which lends a more premium and sporty appeal. Elements below the grille are now painted Black, and this gives a feeling of a larger, more intimidating grille, something I personally feel adds real road presence.

Interior and Features Upgrade
The 2026 V-Cross brings a more premium feel with its body colour finishing, replacing the old Black un-painted cladding elements. The Chunky wheel arch claddings are gone, and even the fog lamp housing matches the body colour now. The MY26 version gets new 18-inch alloy wheels with a dual-tone, machined finish, giving a solid vibe on and off the road. Tyre size is 255/60-R18, and LED headlights and tail lights continue to offer strong illumination. On the exterior, 360-degree roof rails, side steps, and a shark fin antenna enhance practicality while keeping a rugged appearance.

Inside, the overall cabin is largely retained, but the main update is the infotainment screen, now a 10.2-inch wide, free-standing unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other notable features include auto climate control, keyless entry with push button start, improved rear seat along with front and rear armrest, 3D instrument cluster with MID, 6 airbags, occupant detection sensors, Bi-LED projector headlights, a manually dimming IRVM, steering mounted controls, and cruise. From my personal experience driving the V-Cross, these upgrades make every journey both comfortable and engaging, whether on city roads or rugged terrain.

Engine and Performance
The 2026 Isuzu V-Cross is powered by a 1.9L Turbo Diesel engine that powers the pickup truck efficiently, capable of generating 163 bhp of peak power and 360 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 6-speed Manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, while the shift-on-the-fly 4WD system comes standard across variants. Driving this truck personally, I noticed how smoothly the engine delivers power, making even rough terrain feel manageable and controlled.
After the discontinuation of Tata Xenon and Mahindra Scorpio Getaway, the Indian lifestyle passenger pickup segment has jumped a couple of folds in pricing. Now, there are two strong contenders — Toyota Hilux and Isuzu V-Cross. Mahindra is re-kindling its interests and testing Scorpio N based pickup trucks, while Tata is missing from the scene. From my perspective, this makes the V-Cross not just powerful but also a very competitive option for buyers looking for capability and reliability in the current market.
