The MG Majestor will be the latest seven-seater SUV from the brand in the Indian market, positioned as its flagship product, highlighting the brand’s focus on strengthening its premium presence.

The Majestor SUV is planning its launch in the Indian market as JSW MG Motor India prepares what will be a key addition to its lineup; based on what I’ve seen tracking test vehicles, the vehicle has been spotted as multiple test mules, building momentum ahead of being unveiled on February 12, 2026, after it was first showcased at Auto Expo 2025. Once launched, it is expected to become the flagship model of the brand and may potentially replace the Gloster in the automaker’s current lineup, a move that fits MG’s usual product reshuffle strategy.

From my experience reviewing full-size SUVs, the MG Majestor makes a strong first impression by sharing similarities with the Maxus D90 sold in global markets, and that influence is clear in its upright stance and overall presence. The SUV features a large grille complemented by a rugged-looking bumper with skid plates, a split-LED headlamp setup with DRLs along the hoodline, and a muscular bonnet, all brought together to suit its massive size, further highlighted by 20-inch alloy wheels and pronounced fenders.

    Cabin and Features

Inside the MG Majestor, the cabin is likely to offer a pair of 12.3-inch screens for the touchscreen infotainment system and instrument cluster, giving the SUV a modern feel, and from my experience this layout works well in daily use. It also gets useful features like wireless phone charging, a 360-degree camera, an electronic parking brake (EPB), and an electric tailgate, all aimed for added convenience during everyday tasks such as grocery trips.

    Safety and Driver Assistance

Based on what I’ve seen in this segment, the MG Majestor is likely to offer an extensive safety package, featuring front airbags, side airbags, electronic stability control, traction control, hill-start assistance, hill-descent assistance, a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and ISOFIX mounts for child seats, which together support everyday confidence. On higher-end models, the SUV will come equipped with a Level 2 Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite that includes lane departure alerts, automated emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, and adaptive cruise control, clearly enhancing both active safety and overall driver support.

    Engine and Drivetrain

From my experience with large diesel SUVs, the MG Majestor is expected to carry over the proven 2.0-litre diesel engines from the MG Gloster, which is a sensible move for reliability. The single-turbo variant delivers 158.7 bhp and 373.5 Nm, while the twin-turbo diesel produces 212.5 bhp and 478.5 Nm, and both engine options are paired exclusively with an 8-speed TCA. Buyers will find the SUV available with rear-wheel drive, along with an optional four-wheel-drive setup, giving flexibility for different driving needs.

From what I’ve observed in international markets, the D90 is available with a 2.0-litre diesel-hybrid engine that combines a twin-turbocharged diesel with a 48V hybrid system, producing 247 bhp and 500 Nm of torque, a setup that feels well balanced for a large SUV. Additionally, there are petrol options that also deliver 247 bhp but make 410 Nm, showing how MG offers varied powertrains to suit different driving needs globally.
