In December 2025, Kia recorded sales of 18,659 units, as against 8,957 units during the same period of the previous year, marking a strong YoY growth of 108 per cent.
Starting with volume sales, I noticed how Kia India closed the calendar year 2025 on a good ending, recording 18,659 units in December, showing a notable improvement on a year-on-year basis, even though there was an obvious slowdown when compared to the previous month. From my experience tracking monthly dispatch data, sales had more than doubled from 8,957 units in December 2024, translating into 108 per cent growth, a performance that still stands out despite short-term fluctuations.
Kia Sonet I saw how it continued to lead the way in monthly volumes, even as overall volumes dropped from 25,489 units in November 2025, leading to a 27 per cent month-on-month decline. With 9,418 units dispatched in December 2025, the compact SUV contributed nearly half of total sales, and when compared to 3,337 units in December 2024, Sonet volumes jumped by a massive 182 per cent year-on-year, a trend I have often noticed when a strong product anchors brand demand.

Seltos how it delivered an increase on a year-on-year level, selling 4,369 units in December, up from 2,830 units, showing steady demand from regular buyers I often meet at dealerships. At the same time, Sonet sales saw a month-on-month decline, as volumes fell to 12,051 units in November, marking a 22 per cent drop, largely because festive and pre year-end dispatches had boosted the earlier numbers, a pattern I have repeatedly observed in year-end auto sales cycles.

Seltos Update in Focus
Starting with prices, I found it noteworthy that the new generation Seltos had them revealed earlier this month, and it comes with a raft of changes inside and out, which makes it interesting to see how it stacks up in the midsize SUV segment in the first half of 2026. Despite healthy annual growth, volumes dropped to 6,305 units in November, marking a 31 per cent month-on-month fall, a pattern I have often seen when buyers pause ahead of major updates.
Kia Syros its volumes showed sharp growth, with 1,116 units recorded in December 2025, jumping from 544 units in November, marking a strong 105 per cent month-on-month shift that I have often seen when a newer model gains attention. At the same time, the Carens MPV posted 3,681 units in December 2025, improving from 2,626 units in 2024 and delivering a 40 per cent year-on-year rise, even though sales declined steeply from 6,530 units in November with a 44 per cent drop, showing how monthly demand can fluctuate despite overall momentum.
Premium Models at the Top End
Starting with EV6 and EV9, there were no units sold last month, which stood out to me while tracking premium EV demand. At the top end, the fourth generation Carnival premium MPV, available in Limousine trim, stayed a niche offering with 75 units sold in December, lower than 103 units in December 2024, marking a 27 per cent year-on-year decline, but still higher than 58 units in November, showing a 29 per cent month-on-month increase, a pattern I often notice in low-volume luxury segments.
