Having followed the Indian automotive market closely, it’s impressive to see the Skoda Kylaq cement its position. Recently, the SUV hit a major milestone, became the fastest Skoda car to reach the 50,000 sales mark. This comes on the heels of another huge achievement announced by the company in July 2025: cumulative production reaching 5 lakh units.

These achieved milestones over the last 12 months perfectly explain why the Kylaq is now ranked among the top bestselling sub-4-meter SUVs and is Skoda’s top-selling car in India. To celebrate this moment and the Kylaq’s first anniversary, Skoda has announced special benefits and offers—let’s check out the details.

    Skoda Kylaq Special Offers Announced

Let’s be honest, buying a car in India’s highly competitive sub-4-meter SUV segment is a tough choice, with strong rivals like the Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV3XO and Toyota Taisor. In my experience, this is where the Skoda Kylaq, Skoda’s most affordable offering in India with prices starting at Rs 7.59 lakh, has cleverly carved a niche by blending European styling with value.

Now, Skoda is sweetening the pot. To match the Kylaq’s 50k sales milestone, they’ve rolled out a limited period offer with some serious benefits. Buyers can get cash benefits of up to Rs 50,000 and Skoda’s one-year maintenance package at a 50% discount. As a nice bonus, All Kylaq buyers will also be getting an assured gift.

These benefits genuinely translate into a much better overall deal for buyers, making an already well-positioned SUV even more attractive. It’s a smart move, especially as this segment is about to see multiple new entrants in the future, including the Volkswagen Tera and 2nd-gen Hyundai Bayon, with Renault also planning a sub-4-meter offering for the Indian market. This offer is valid till 28th February, 2026, so it’s worth acting on if you’re in the market.

The Skoda Kylaq secured its spot in December 2025, ranked 10th on the list of bestselling sub-4-meter SUVs with Sales of 3,668 units—a figure that translates to a market share of over 3%. This is no small feat in the sub-4-meter SUV segment, the largest contributor to overall SUV sales in India, where lower GST rates have sales booming and future growth prospects look promising. The real potential lies ahead; with the Volkswagen Tera expected to enter this space, the duo could collectively command a higher market share for the brand.

    Powertrain and Rivals

Under the hood, the Kylaq is quite punchy, Powering it is a familiar and peppy 1.0-litre turbo petrol 3-cylinder engine that generates a healthy 115 PS and 178 Nm of torque. Transmission choices are straightforward, including a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed AT. Having driven it, I find the performance adequate for the city, but what’s more impressive is the fuel efficiency.

The Manual variants boast a strong 19.68 km/l, while the AT variants deliver a respectable 19.05 km/l, which is a key selling point. It’s worth noting this powertrain is shared widely; the same engine is also available in its cousins, the Skoda Kushaq and Slavia, as well as Volkswagen’s Taigun and Virtus.

    Feature Range and Future Possibilities

Stepping inside, the Kylaq truly offers a comprehensive and premium range of features, backed by robust safety credentials highlighted by its 5-star rating from Bharat NCAP. In my view of its lineup, the AT option is available on all other trims Excluding the base Classic trim, which include the Classic+, Signature, Signature+, Prestige and Prestige+.

For those wanting it all, the top-spec Prestige+ AT variant is priced at Rs 12.99 lakh. Looking ahead, the future could see Skoda introduce a CNG option for the Kylaq, a smart move since rival Carmakers like Maruti, Tata and Hyundai have been quite successful with their strategy to offer factory-fitted CNG cars.

Thinking about its product plan, Skoda could offer a CNG option for the Kylaq via dealer-level retrofit kits. This practical approach has been successfully utilized by other carmakers like Renault, Nissan, and Citroen in our market. In that case, a CNG Kylaq would be a strategic move; it could bring in more sales, help boost its market share, and, interestingly, become Skoda’s first CNG car in the Indian market.
