BMW has just confirmed an exciting move for enthusiasts, setting the launch of the all-new BMW X3 xDrive 30 M Sport Pro for 16 February 2026. Having followed the X3’s evolution, this new flagship variant is a significant step up. From 30 January, the company will start accepting pre-bookings for this luxury mid-size SUV, which is expected to be priced upwards of ₹80 lakh (ex-showroom).
This positions it on top of the current lineup, above the existing variants—the xDrive 20 and XDrive 20d, priced at ₹71.20 lakh and ₹73.20 lakh (both ex-showroom), respectively. A key detail from my experience in the auto sector is its local production strategy; it will be produced locally at their plant in Chennai, India, which often helps with quicker availability and tailored specifications for our market.
Design & Tech: The Sporty Heart of the M Sport Pro
Looking at this new BMW X3 variant, its sportier character is immediately apparent. From my time reviewing these packages, the M Sport package truly transforms the car. Visually, the Exterior will probably include standout elements like an illuminated kidney grille with red accents at the front and matching red brake callipers. Step Inside the cabin, and the same assertive theme continues; the sportier M Sport package is expected to offer an all-black interior with contrast red stitching on the seat, dashboard, centre console, and door trim, creating a focused, driver-oriented environment.
In terms of equipment, the BMW X3 xDrive30 M Sport Pro is expected to carry forward the excellent features available on other X3 variants. This means you can benefit from a modern cockpit centered around dual integrated displays, a head-up display to keep your eyes on the road, and premium comfort touches like a panoramic sunroof. For entertainment, a powerful 15-speaker Harman Kardon sound system is paired with practical tech such as wireless smartphone charging. It’s a package designed to deliver a complete luxury SUV experience without compromise.

Safety, Power & Performance: The Technical Core
On the safety front, this SUV is likely to be comprehensively equipped. Expect eight airbags as a base, supported by an attentiveness assistant and advanced systems like Dynamic Stability Control with Cornering Brake Control. Additional safety measures are robust, including an electronic parking brake with auto hold, side-impact protection, and an electronic immobiliser with a crash sensor. For families, child seat mounting points are thoughtfully included, rounding out a solid package.
Turning to what makes it move, Powering this machine is a punchy 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid setup. In my experience with such powertrains, the integration is seamless. This one dishes out a healthy 255 bhp and 400 Nm of peak torque. The Power is sent to all four wheels via a smooth 8-speed Steptronic transmission, with the help of BMW’s intelligent xDrive all-wheel-drive system. As for raw performance, the SUV impressively dashes from 0 to 100 kmph in just 6 seconds.
