This year, Hyundai is executing a broad strategy, targeting multiple segments with new cars that range from budget to premium. The first launch is expected in the second quarter.

This year, Hyundai is making a major push in India with a clear plan to introduce four new cars. Their strategy for these upcoming models is smart—they aim to cater to a wide audience by targeting multiple segments, offering choices for both budget-conscious buyers and those seeking premium options.

    The Verna’s Mid-Cycle Refresh

This year, Hyundai will roll out a facelift for its sixth-generation Verna. The original model was launched in March 2023, and this updated version is likely to launch as early as April 2024.

For the new Verna, the update is all about design and technology. It sports a sharper and more aggressive front end, clearly inspired by the latest Sonata. Inside, it gets several key new features, including a dual-screen setup: a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with customisable modes and a matching 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. This system supports both wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, and is powered by the new ccNC software. However, it’s unlikely to see any major mechanical changes under the hood.

    The Exter’s Anticipated Refresh

Following its schedule, Hyundai is set to give the Exter its mid-cycle facelift later in the second quarter of this year. Rumours suggest the new Exter will be getting significant tech upgrades, potentially including a large 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 9.9-inch digital instrument cluster.

    New Hyundai

The updated model should also feature a visual refresh with redesigned bumpers, tweaked headlamps and tail lamps, and stylish new 15-inch alloy wheels. However, it’s unlikely that Hyundai will make any changes to the engines or transmissions for this Exter facelift.

Hyundai is set to launch the new Ioniq 5 in India, a model first revealed internationally in March 2024. This facelifted version features subtle design changes and practical gains like a rear windshield wiper. Inside, it gets Digital Key 2, a new three-spoke steering wheel, and a ccNC-based dual-screen setup with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 12.3-inch infotainment system. 84 kWh A larger battery pack will improve the driving range.

    The Bayon: A Flagship Debut

Potentially the most significant launch for Hyundai this year will be the all-new Bayon during the festive season. This won’t be the current model sold internationally, but an all-new, upcoming second-generation vehicle fresh from development. Positioned as a sub-4 metre SUV positioned just above the Venue, it promises a sportier and more technical-looking exterior. Underpinning it will be the same platform as the next fourth-generation i20, and it’s set to make a major splash by being the first to debut Hyundai’s new hybrid-ready 1.2-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine.
