On February 12, MG Motor India officially revealed the much-anticipated Majestor SUV for the Indian market, following its showcase at the Bharat Mobility Expo. The carmaker has not disclosed the prices yet, but pre-bookings have already started on the MG India website. The MG Majestor will be available in two trims and three variants – Sharp 4×2, Savvy 4×2, and Savvy 4×4 – and will be sold alongside the Gloster, though positioned above it in MG’s India-portfolio. The ex-showroom prices for the Gloster range from Rs. 38.33 lakh to Rs. 43.17 lakh, and the Majestor will likely be retailed via the standard dealership network, rather than premium MG Select outlets, which are still small in number. This approach is beneficial for wider availability.
The Majestor is touted as the first D+ segment SUV from MG and directly competes with models like the Toyota Fortuner Legender, Jeep Meridian, Skoda Kodiaq, and Volkswagen Tayron R-Line. Future competition will also include the upcoming JSW Jetour T2. With its strategic positioning, the Majestor aims to strengthen MG’s India portfolio and carve a strong niche in the growing SUV segment.

Design & Global Platform
Now, let’s talk about that exterior – it’s designed to make a powerful statement. The front alone is a masterpiece, features a bold Matrix-style grille paired with split LED headlamps. The LED DRLs, cleverly arranged both horizontally and vertically, create a truly distinctive and modern face. Moving along the side profile, the aggressive theme continues with pronounced flared arches and large 19-inch alloy wheels, giving it a strong stance that emphasizes its commanding road presence.
From the spy shots and show floor glimpses, I can tell you the production version of this SUV looks remarkably close to the stunning concept shown earlier. Having seen it displayed multiple times, including at the Auto Expo and during its rigorous road and off-road trials right here in India, its global roots are obvious. It’s Built on the robust Maxus D90 platform that’s already sold in key markets like China and Saudi Arabia, and it also shares much of its DNA with the MG Rakan introduced in Kuwait. Its overall proportions and styling clearly reflect this purposeful global lineage.

MG Majestor: Interior & Expected Features
While MG hasn’t officially revealed the cabin, spy shots suggest a layout will be similar to the Maxus D90. Based on what we’ve seen, the expected highlights are set to impress, starting with a massive 12.3-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system and a matching 12.3-inch digital driver’s display. You’ll interact with it all via a three-spoke steering wheel and a sleek column-mounted gear selector.
The list of likely Premium features is extensive, aiming to include a panoramic sunroof, three-zone climate control, wireless charging, a thumping 12-speaker audio system, a powered tailgate, and crucial Level 2 ADAS safety tech. For ultimate comfort, electrically adjustable front seats with heating and massage functions are on the cards. All these additions clearly aim to cement the Majestor’s position as the undisputed flagship SUV in MG’s lineup.
Powertrain & Drivetrain
Under the hood, the Majestor is widely expected to carry forward the proven 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine from its predecessor, the Gloster. This robust unit produces a healthy 212.5 bhp and a strong 478.5 Nm of torque, which is paired with a smooth 8-speed automatic transmission. To handle different terrains, buyers will have the option of either rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive configurations, ensuring great versatility across all sorts of driving conditions.
