Royal Enfield has roared into the new fiscal year by smashing a critical barrier, selling over 1 million motorcycles in just 10 months of FY2026—a major milestone that underscores its powerful grip on the Indian market. This remarkable achievement sets the stage for a January 2026 that saw the company sell 1,04,322 units, registering a strong 14 per cent year-on-year growth compared to the 91,132 units sold in January 2025.
Having tracked their journey, this isn’t just a lucky month; it marks four consecutive months of double-digit growth, proving the brand’s momentum is both strong and sustained. Delving into the total January sales, the real powerhouse was the domestic market, where 93,781 motorcycles were sold—reflecting a staggering 16 per cent growth over last year. It’s clear that 2026 started on a positive note for the iconic manufacturer, as it successfully clocked impressive sales growth and crossed a historic threshold, with its performance continuing to build an undeniable growth narrative.
Domestic Dominance and Steady Global Footprint
The bigger picture reveals truly explosive growth. On a year-to-date (YTD) basis, Royal Enfield has sold a remarkable 10,25,420 motorcycles, marking a significant 25 per cent increase compared to the same period last year. This isn’t a flash in the pan; it’s sustained expansion. Internationally, the pace is steadier, with exports for the month stood at 10,541 units and growing by a modest 5 per cent year-on-year. From what I’ve seen, this kind of balanced, multi-front growth is the hallmark of a brand building for the long haul.
A Quiet Export Milestone
Another quiet but solid achievement for the financial year is that the company has crossed 1 lakh motorcycle exports. Notably, hitting that six-figure benchmark for total exports this year speaks to a deepening global reach that goes beyond just monthly figures.

The leadership’s view confirms the numbers on the ground. Talking about the performance in January 2026, B Govindarajan, Managing Director of Eicher Motors Ltd. and Chief Executive Officer of Royal Enfield, said that the new year has begun on a positive note for the brand. He highlighted that this success is about extending the strong momentum from the previous quarter, effectively marking four consecutive months of healthy double-digit growth.
He pointed to two massive achievements: having crossed 1 million motorcycle sales this financial year across the globe and also having crossed 100,000 motorcycle sales in exports. In my view, when a CEO connects such figures to the community, it’s key. He noted that this consistent performance reflects expanding demand across their portfolio and the deeper engagement they continue to foster with their community, which is ultimately what sustains growth beyond any single quarter.
The 2026 Roadmap: New Models and Anticipated Updates
Moving forward into 2026, the product pipeline looks exciting for enthusiasts. The next major launch from the brand is expected to be the much-anticipated Bullet 650, which was first showcased at the 2025 Motoverse. On the update front, many riders, myself included, have noted that the popular Classic 350 still hasn’t received the slipper clutch update, and we expect that to happen in the coming few months.
Looking further ahead, by the end of the year, all eyes will be on Milan, Italy, where Royal Enfield will be showcasing two powerful new models at the 2026 EICMA motorcycle show: the Himalayan 750 and also the Continental GT 750. This global show is where brands truly signal their future direction.
