In January 2026, Renault India sold 3,715 units of its cars. This number is up by 33.6% from the same time last year. This good performance is driven by strong demand for its new models, the Kiger and the Triber.
Renault India, which is the wholly owned subsidiary of the Renault Group, has made a strong start to 2026. In January 2026, their total wholesales were reaching 3,715 units. This marks a healthy double-digit growth of 33.6% year-on-year (YoY), especially when compared to the 2,780 units they had sold in January 2025. This performance is significantly outgrowing the overall industry growth for the month and is clearly driven by sustained consumer demand following their new launches—the Kiger and Triber.
Renault’s Market Momentum and Future Outlook
Commenting on the excellent sales performance, Mr. Francisco Hidalgo, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Renault India, said the brand has entered 2026 with strong momentum and clear intent, marking a new beginning for Renault India. He noted that the Kiger and Triber continue to deliver a solid and consistent performance. However, the real buzz is from the biggest car reveal in the Indian automotive industry—the triumphant return of the iconic Duster.
This has ignited major consumer excitement across the country, with the company witnessing a sharp surge in enquiries at all its touchpoints, reinforcing the confidence they’ve been building since the second half of 2025. He confidently stated, “The Duster is making a comeback, and Renault’s next major move in India is already underway.”
This success is built on a strong finish to H2 2025, as the company continues to see robust consumer sentiment for its newly launched models. When Combined, both vehicles have recorded a very strong 45.3% YoY growth in their sales when compared to last year.
